ABOUT ADENOIDECTOMY:
This is a surgical procedure in which adenoids (lymphoid tissue at back of nose) are removed. It may be combined with other procedures like tonsillectomy. Patients commonly belong to paediatric age group. It may be advised in case of chronic sinusitis, ear infection, nasal airway obstruction, snoring, mouth breathing, etc. Surgical excision of adenoids may be done though mouth or nose. It is done by an ENT surgeon.
